Hans Henschel began his studies at the self-organized FilmArche Berlin, where he explored filmmaking through experimentation and collaboration. From 2013 to 2023, he studied directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, where he refined his artistic signature.

His medium-length film THINGS LEFT UNSAID (Was ich dir noch sagen wollte) premiered at the Max Ophüls Prize 2017 and was subsequently broadcast by MDR.

In 2024, he made his graduation feature GHOSTS (Geister), developed in collaboration with writer Christoph A. Klimke and produced within the Leuchtstoff Program in partnership with rbb, MovieBrats Pictures and Film University Babelsberg. The film had its world premiere at the 45th Max Ophüls Prize. For her performance in GHOSTS, Amal Keller was nominated for the First Steps Award.

He is based in Berlin, where he is currently developing his debut feature film. In addition, he has many years of experience as an editor.
